Bridges Out of Poverty
_____________________________________
Communities engage in building a Bridges Community because people are attracted to
Bridges constructs and because they want to live in sustainable communities. Building a
Bridges Community tends to be organic and messy, not unlike gardening. It’s not linear
or mechanical like building a house. Every community has its own leaders, history,
circumstances, and best practices and will go about building a Bridges Community in its
own way. There are, however, some principles and steps that we’ve learned from other
Bridges Communities that can help guide the work.
