Dan DarnellDan was selected as Executive Director of the organization in June, 2007. He is a 30-year veteran law enforcement officer, who retired in 2003 from the Farmington, New Mexico Police Department. He has been a member of the Farmington City Council since 2004, representing the southernmost sections of the City. Dan was constructive in addressing poverty in San Juan County by implementing a program called The Bridges Project, based on the extensive research of Dr. Ruby Payne. He is certified to instruct the Bridges curriculum and the Getting Ahead facilitation class, as well as to certify others to instruct the classes. He holds a degree from San Juan College and is currently completing a second degree in Sociology through the University of New Mexico.
Kyle LarkinsKyle was born and raised here in New Mexico in the Farmington area. He is a 2006 graduate of Farmington High School. After attending San Juan College he spent a year working in Wyoming. Kyle moved back to Farmington where he then went to work for the San Juan Safe Communities Initiative in 2010. As Staff Assistant, he now manages the web resources, and is involved in the technical development side of the organization. He is also involved in the planning and implementation of many of the special projects our organization is involved in.
