2nd Annual FitKids Health Fair

Sponsored by San Juan IPA

The San Juan Independent Practice Association (IPA) hosted their 2nd Annual FitKids Health Fair at the San Juan College Learning Commons. According to Kami Calder, approximately 450 youth and their families were in attendance. They were welcomed with booths from various local agencies that offered health literature and resources. Several organizations also provided interesting youth activities that supported health and fitness. According to their (San Juan IPA) website, each FitKids event:

• Encourages activity, exercise and fitness,

• Promotes nutrition and healthy eating habits,

• Provides resources for youth sports,

• Increases awareness for childhood health including preventative services, and

• Improves community access to local, state and national health services and resources.
